Last week much of the lab went to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer center retreat. We had a great time sharing our science, learning about the efforts to fight cancer at all levels, and meeting fellow scientists.

Judge rules against NIH grant cuts — and calls them discriminatory The decision means that the US biomedical agency has to restore funding to hundreds of research projects, but the government will likely appeal.

A US judge has ordered hundreds of terminated research projects at the US National Institutes of Health to be reinstated, calling the processes that led to their cancellation “bereft of reasoning”.

#cellbio2024 is upon us! I’m excited to give a talk in the epithelial polarity and trafficking session today. If you can’t make it but want to hear about this work, I’m also giving a poster on Tuesday.

Essential reading for all that serve as reviewers. Please help your authors as if they were in your lab. Make your reviews constructive.

Overly onerous reviews amount to blocking each others’ work. It slows progress and demoralizes junior investigators.
