That question always depends who you ask.

If you ask the Agency it began when Nina, The Shrouded Legend, started hiding fugitives from them and organizing the Tinorkk populace against them.

If you ask the Tinorkk they'll say there is no current war, but the conflict started-

-around the bones they use to interact with the world, not the bones themselves. They can change skeletons any time they want. So although you can see their spine, TECHNICALLY, they're an invertebrate.

Making the MC the only vertebrate of the main 5. Which retrospectively is kinda weird.

Many humans who have seen Tinorkk decide they are demons, but no Tinorkk call themselves that. It's offensive to call a Tinorkk a demon, but in a more 'look at this ignorant moron' way than some other things. MC has been mistaken for a fallen angel by humans more than once.

A beaded pendant. 6 circles, red, orange, yellow, blue, and purple overlap in an arch. Each circle has a central glass bead surrounded by seed beads, each ring a different shade of the same color. The outer border is copper colored seed beads. The arch is about 5 inches long and held horizontally on a gold chain.

The newest shiny thing I made. It's super shiny in person, the picture doesn't do it justice. It's backed in leather and has a nice weight to it. Did I mention it's shiny?🤩

It's the 4th beaded pendant I've made & though I'm improving it's a heck of a learning curve.

I have a hard time getting my grocery store to give me so much as bananas, there's not an adequate grocery per person ratio in this town😅. But I can try Amazon. I do have some of the cup for cup gluten free flour, just wasn't sure how it translated into roux.

And don't say cornstarch, that does not make the same flavor. It's okay for some things, but nothing beats a good roux. Please don't tell me to put cornstarch in stews and gumbo 😅.

Hey #glutenfree #celiac BlueSky! My gluten free bff is coming to live with me for a while. I do all home cooking because I'm allergic to red meat, but we're a carb heavy house. I know some things I can just buy, like pasta, wraps, & bread. But what's the best method for the all important roux?

It's basically The Little Mermaid's "Part of your world". The change is to allow them to interact with more Tinorkk. If all your buddies are meeting in a human sized house & you don't fit you'd want a form that makes that easier. It's hard to join game night when you weigh several tons.

It's more of "if there's a room of black cats how would you find a specific black cat". We're a species without spots, stripes, or particularly unique shaped ears, there's only a few shades of hair & shapes of noses. It's less need based and more a cross species problem.

And it did, for a while. But (redacted) radicalized Nina, Nina accidentally radicalized her friends. Seeing them stand up to the boogiemen (Vincent & Redacted) pushed the snowball a little too far over the edge of the cliff, now entire cities are singing together.

Magic is stronger the more souls sing or play it. Speakers & recordings do nothing. But if enough Tinorkk harmonize they're basically untouchable. The Agency miscalculated when they forced them into closely packed cities. They thought the propaganda and hardship would keep them divided & scrambling.

Weapons like explosives or tanks would collapse an entire Tinorkk Town. Despite the Agency's many, many problems, they're not looking to wipe out Tinorkk. ...And no one is sure what would happen to the human city the Town is built under & through.

There are many large mammal Tinorkk. Whales are Tinorkk. Their songs are slow magic & they have 2 legged forms to walk on land. Elephants also have a smaller, 2 legged form they can choose to better interact with other Tinorkk, though it takes their whole herd's song to change.

"Humanoid" is considered an offensive term among Tinorkk, as it centers humans as the norm. It'll get you dirty looks at best in a Tinorkk Town, possibly cursed. If you say it to the wrong person you might just not come back out. 'Noid could make a good Tinorkk slur for humans 🤔.

No small mammals of note in Drops of Gold. The smallest Tinorkk you'll see is about half the size of an adult human, not all are mammals, & all Tinorkk are sapient. Might add a background pet, but I have the No Animal Gets Hurt Rule, so I have to keep them out of big plot events.
