Here's a quick tour of 'Home is Where the Heart is', a solo exhibition from artist John Lau, who won the Fronteer Open 2024 People's Choice prize.

John's work looks at the notions of belonging, everyday life and a sense of place through oil painting.

Yesterday we installed Nic Gear's 'Time [Lines] Traces' show in preparation for the opening, which is tomorrow (31st) from 4-6pm here at Fronteer Gallery 🎨

Nic's solo exhibition looks at the materiality of landscape, ways of seeing and our relationship with the world around us.

Today we started Installing our Postcard Exhibition ready for the opening on Saturday. I'm sure you'll all agree that it's looking glorious! Just the wall text to do now before we open 🤩💪🏻

It's a week in which we're installing 3 exhibitions at Fronteer Gallery, and today our main focus has been hanging 'Home is Where the Heart is', a solo show by John Lau, which looks at landscape, portraiture, belonging and a sense of place through vibrant and captivating oil painting.

A big thank you to everyone who came to our 'Meet the Locals' closing event this evening, we had a blast!

Due to adverse weather conditions we have made the very difficult decision to postpone tomorrow's 'Meet the Locals' Private View.

This is a decision we don't take lightly, and to make it up to you we are going to run a Closing Event on the 24th January instead. Hope to see you then 🥂

Hope you're all enjoying the festive season! In between eating too much and playing with our little boy's presents while he's asleep we're also gearing up for our first exhibition of 2026, 'Meet the Locals', which opens with a Private View on 10th January.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Winter Solstice closing party last night, and indeed thank you to all the artists and visitors who made the exhibition so memorable ✨❄️🎨

Tonight is the night of our Winter Solstice closing event at Fronteer Gallery. See our Winter Solstice show for a final time and enjoy some refreshments in the company of some of the artists involved. From 5pm there'll even be some tarot readings courtesy of Celestial Blue.

We have an early Christmas treat for you at Fronteer Gallery from 2.30-5pm tomorrow (13th December), as we welcome Sylvia Causer for a drop-in watercolour painting workshop. The workshop is free but donations are welcome. Hope to see you there!

You can catch 'Winter Solstice' until 20th December. We're open 11-4 Tuesdays -Thursdays & 2.15-5.15 Saturdays, with a closing event on 20th December, 4-6pm.

Today was the first day of our 'Winter Solstice' exhibition. It's an atmospheric and immersive show full of the narratives, symbolism and natural forces this time of year brings. It's well worth spending some time with! ❄️🎨
