Today I volunteered to run a photo booth at our annual Harvest Festival. I used my ancient Canon ID Mk II, 8.2-megapixel from 2004. The weather was iffy and kids were running around. It's water resistant and built like a tank. The old guy did fine. So did the camera. #photography #santacruzmountains

hah yeah, it's my go-to when I blow the timing (again, and again). Lovely detail photos. Then I shrug it off and find other adventures.

Here's hoping. I read that Sagehen Summit is prime now, so if it's anything like the usual pattern (and your book which I've misplaced... sigh) then this may be an epic trip.

I think you're right about that. Either contracting even more or opening new centers of operation. A smart nation would offer tax incentives riiiiight about now.

I don't think there's much to spell out.

My family's been in the cake making business for a very long time. The current cake industry includes a caste system that has nothing to do with quality.

Another perspective. Imagine you are early in the cake industry. The ingredients are plentiful locally. The quality is good to outstanding. You import cheaper ingredients and the cake isn't as good but you make a lot of money on that cake. The incentive to make the ingredients locally tanks.

A man paddles a kayak at what I think I recall is Lundy Lake. I made this photo in October, 2015 so the details get a little lost. That doesn't matter so much and there aer a lot of times when I don't specify the location at all.

I'm going to try posting daily for a while. A lot of what I photograph is landscapes and portraits. Landscapes have always spoken to me because the world is art. People because they're always unique.
