Iβm grateful for the chance to be part of these conversations and to represent the broader scientific community. #Science progresses when we produce and explain accurate research, listen carefully to community, and work collectively to ensure continued service of the public good.
03.02.2026 17:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's important we use available platforms to amplify these voices, so the decisions affecting science are informed by those who live it every day.
03.02.2026 17:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Effective advocacy goes beyond budgets and legislation. Itβs about showing up for students, early-career researchers, and colleagues whose voices too often go overlooked.
03.02.2026 17:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In times of uncertainty, this engagement is even more essential: not only to articulate the importance of scientific research, but to advocate for the many talented and passionate individuals who make it possible.
03.02.2026 17:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Headed to Washington D.C. for the @apsphysics.bsky.social Annual Leadership Meeting and Congressional Visits Day. I always hold this event in special regard because it gives scientists a direct opportunity to engage with policymakers and speak to the specific needs of our community.
03.02.2026 17:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Arrived in beautiful (and chilly π₯Ά) Riga π±π» for QIP! Looking forward to some wonderful discussions over the next few days, and catching up with the quantum community.
Those attending who would like to meet up and chat, let me know!

These results suggest nonlocal magic serves as both a practical diagnostic of "quantumness", and constitutes a new entry in the AdS/CFT dictionary, opening avenues for novel study of quantum phases, resource dynamics, and information theoretic structures in holography.
05.01.2026 17:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In conformal field theories, we show that non-local magic controls the classical simulability of incompressible states, and manifests in a holographic setting as the gravitational backreaction of bulk minimal surfaces.
05.01.2026 17:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In this work we introduce non-local magic as a quantum resource emerging from the structure of a state's entanglement spectrum, and derive its bounds in terms of entanglement and Renyi entropy measures.
05.01.2026 17:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Our paper "Gravitational Backreaction is Magical" has just been published in PRX Quantum π journals.aps.org/prxquantum/...

As we look toward the year ahead, Iβm excited to build on this momentum and continue pushing the field forward little by little. The challenges of realizing useful and reliable quantum computation remain substantial, but the pace of progress is undeniable.
31.12.2025 19:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm also thankful for the spirit of the broader quantum community, which fosters collaboration across institutions and disciplines. This collective effort, spanning distinct fields and individuals at various career stages, is what enables quantum science to advance at the pace weβre witnessing.
31.12.2025 19:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Watching students grow into scientists, learning alongside them, and developing as a mentor in the process has been one of the most rewarding parts of the year.
31.12.2025 19:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The creativity and tenacity of students, combined with the perspective and advisement of senior researchers, have helped me grow not only as a scientist, but also as a learner myself.
31.12.2025 19:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am especially grateful for the outstanding graduate students, postdocs, professors, and researchers Iβve had the privilege to work with this year.
