In Super Paper Mario, Mr. L is actually much smaller than Mario and Luigi, and gets scaled up at runtime. The game was originally developed for the GameCube before moving to Wii; Mario and Luigi received new Wii graphics while Mr. L was stuck with small GameCube textures.

In 2D Mario platformers, Mario can either crouch or slide, but is denied the ability to sit in place. However, with a specific setup in Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario will come to rest in a sliding animation, finally allowing him to simply sit.

In Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Polterguys are Shy Guys that turn into blocks. Due to the game's camera using massive amounts of foreshortening, they must compensate for it. To appear perfectly cubical, they are actually immensely long.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Hooktail eats 8 Toads to recover health. The game ensures these sacrificial Toads always stay in order to be eaten in the end. They are Mario's biggest fans, will always show up, and no action can make them leave.

In Donkey Kong Bananza, demolishing all destructible terrain on DK Island reveals a shadow sphere that was hidden at the heart of the island. While the sphere is simply a darkness effect for the cave, it was clearly not intended to be seen like this and creates an ominous effect.

Mushroom Retainers Debut: Super Mario All-Stars Attack: Speedy Spores Type: Support Speed: 6/10 Power: 2/10 Pass: 3/10 Spike: 3/10 The Mushroom Retainers are Peach's official guards and advisors, and do a ton of work for her inside and outside the castle. Like most Toads, they're a happy, loyal bunch, and though they're not the strongest in the kingdom, they will fight for their princess 'til the very end! A group of retainers can assume a tank formation under a giant mushroom cap, which is how you can recruit some of your own in the Spikers League! These guys travel in perfect sync, and the mushroom cap helps deflect some weaker attacks. It has a secondary use beyond that though - using the Speedy Spore ability, the cap can actually let out Dash Mushroom spores, which gives any teammates in range a speed boost, and opponents a speed debuff.

Tiny Toad Troupe Debut: Super Mario All-Stars Attack: Toad Guardian Type: Support Speed: 10/10 Power: 1/10 Pass: 1/10 Spike: 1/10 These Toads are as small as Mini Mushrooms! Toads already aren't that strong, so you can imagine how frail these smaller ones are. But what they lack in height, they make up for in coordination. They march in huge groups in single file, and attack by surrounding enemies and overwhelming them with team maneuvers! Tiny Toad Troupes can accompany any team in the Spikers League, and they all act as a single unit. They have great speed, but their other stats are quite pitiful. However, they can leave one Toad unit to guard one of their teammates, granting them a small ally that will automatically target opponents nearby! You can give all your teams Toad allies, but each one decreases the troupe's speed by one, so think smart!

You can recruit groups of Toads for your Spikers League team, both of whom have different ways of supporting! The Mushroom Retainers can release spores that speeds you up, and the Tiny Toad Troupe can give allies a small Toad friends who will defend them at all costs!

A fun little project I spent this afternoon on, I 3D modeled a Chain Chomp and used it to make a #SuperSmashBros styled render!

I'm really happy with how this turned out, especially with what direction I went when designing the actual render in Blender!

Three different kinds of Yoshis, originating from the Sand Kingdom, Snow Kingdom, and Wooded Kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey. Each one has a bullet list of points going over their abilities, evolutionary traits, and behaviors. The Sand Kingdom Yoshi is a quadruped with a crocodile-like snout, thick eyebrows, and a large circular plate along its back, identical to that of the spinosaurus. Its bullet points are as follows: - Stays low to the ground, burrows in the sand. - Instead of spikes or a saddle, has a large round plate that can be flushed with blood to cool off in the hot desert. - Can actually swim in the sand, plate acts as a large sail that can catch the desert wind. - Does not like tourists trying to ride it. The Snow Kingdom Yoshi is huge, fat, and furry. It has fur covering its eyes like giant bushy eyebrows, and it also has walrus-like tusks under its nose. Its feet are hidden underneath the fur. Its bullet points are as follows: - Evolved to have a thick layer of blubber on top of a thick layer of fur, protecting its cold blood from the harsh weather. - Too much weight to walk, so it simply rolls along the ground. - Has large tusks that can spear through prey. - Gentle demeanor around those it thinks is harmless. The Wooded Kingdom Yoshi is robotic and rusting. Its eyes are green lightbulbs, and its saddle is a red lightbulb. Instead of feet, it has tank treads. It is also rusting and visibly breaking apart, such as a gear being missing in the treads and the metal on its tail breaking off. Its notes are as follows: - Artificial Yoshis created by the Steam Gardeners. - Deployed around gardens as pest control units and litter cleaners. - Treads can cling to walls and ceilings. - Mouth opens to reveal a vacuum that sucks in small prey and garbage. - Needs to be recharged just like the Steam Gardeners.

The jump in storage capacity from Nintendo 64 cartridges to GameCube discs allowed the developers to be astonishingly generous with the storage in comparison. A Super Mario Sunshine cutscene of a single image fading in and out is larger than the entirety of Super Mario 64.

In Yoshi's "Loves Me...?" minigame in Super Mario 64 DS, there is a 1 in 4,294,967,296 chance to get 32 consecutive "Loves Me Not" results in a row. While this is astronomically unlikely to have ever happened, a player receiving those results would likely become very distressed.
