Me. (At my desk, coding for a couple hours already today.)

Her (coming in and sitting in her chair). Sure is quiet out here.

Me. Was.

Her. What was that?

Me. Morning, dear.

Him. Why am I locked out again.

Me. I already explained it to you. Send me the new IP address.

Him. But you fixed it.

Me. Not mine to fix. Send me the new IP address.

Him. This is stupid.

Me. I didn't invent the internet. (And I already explained it to you.)

QOTD: The line between "inscrutable and mysterious" and "dumb as a bag of hammers" is vanishingly thin.

Made me laugh out loud. I needed that this morning, man, thank you. (...and I agree.)

Note to self: Don't forget to take your meds. I'm tired of reminding you. Feel how you feel right now? Feel like shit, right? DON'T FORGET YOUR MEDS. ('specially the one that regularizes your heart beat.)

... the idea of a grave being sacred in perpetuity is a relatively recent idea, the self-centered and narcissistic assertion that, somehow, the meat is still important after death. 3/3

Those items have significant cultural and historical worth and it's idiotic pearl clutching to let them crumble to nothing. There are no bodies, it's not a gravesite, and in any case... 2/3

On a post about the RMS Titanic: The eternal question: At what point does grave robbing become archaeology? I for one think we should retrieve every single object we can get our submersible hands on from the site. 1/3

Ignore the really crazy stuff because there's truly damaging, dangerous, deadly stuff happening behind it.

Every ounce of attention you give these types of things is a pound of attention that real issues aren't getting.
Pay attention to what government agencies are being dismantled. Pay attention to whose rights are being taken away. Pay attention to the many pension funds that are being drained.

This is a distraction. It will never happen, and the reps proposing it know it will never happen. This is jangling keys, shiny, noisy "look over here!"s. This is, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

Not a lot of snow. One, maybe two inches? Nothing we can't brush off and drive away from.

Snowing. How much, ultimately? Don't know.

I've said it before: forced to choose winter or summer, I'll always choose summer. I've never had to call in to work because of 6" of hot.

Day Job got hacked, customer data stolen. I think it was a screen scrape from a vulnerable URL, i.e. change an id, get the next record, mitigation team thinks server incursion. I even wrote a script to demonstrate. It's been interesting.

QOTD: I'm not a militant atheist. I have no drive to push anyone out of religion, but I will aggressively counter it if it's pushed toward me or mine.

Best thing I ever did. Quit during finals week: too broke to buy, too busy to notice. After the week, I realized I hadn't had a smoke and figured to just keep that up. It was hard, but worth it.

Deadpool & Wolverine is a perfect movie. The writing is snappy, the callbacks to previous films are really intelligent, the acting is spot on, and the visual effects are flawless. Loved it loved it loved it.
