To archive an entire artist or mass-download games before they get deleted for good, you can use the itch-dl Python package

I have not vetted it for security issues, but ive had it running it on my computer for hours and it works

The simplest way to download any removed game is using the Itch.io desktop app
itch.io/app

If you replace the URL with one for a deleted game, an install option still appears and lets you download it

itch.io has shadowbanned most NSFW games and even removed many of them, but they can still be downloaded if you have the link to them, or at least the authors page or a collection they appear in 👇

I don't know how long this approach will work

so itchio has shadowbanned any games tagged with 'nsfw', 'adult', or 'erotic' so they don't show up in searches, and several devs have reported that their r18 games have been removed from the site with no warning
