As it was I absolutely did sell the condo at a loss when you factor in the land transfer tax on purchase and the realtor fees on the sale.

But with the softening across the board, I managed to find a house with a very motivated seller and got it for well under assessed value.

We have a housing shortage but realistically, at least in Metro Vancouver, we're not going to be building any significate number of new detached homes.

I jumped back into a detached home after selling my previous one in the Fraser Valley to move closer to the city for work.
