Oh yeah no, they’re still very much stalked and monitored (and gaslit about it 😭). Didn’t mean to make it sound otherwise!

Years later I worked with survivors of dv/sa and trafficking. Often their feelings of being monitored were dismissed as remnants of trauma. But let me say, like the professor I mentioned, it’s still worth considering and checking— and sometimes still very real/usual, unfortunately

To be clear, in this case, he was acting so erratically (calls & letters) that it led to him being on a list. Nothing had come of him being on this list besides monitoring, but when it came to confronting what seemed like delusions this was more difficult to parse out & part self fulfilling prophecy

It was a vicious loop in this case. The letters and calls that this man had made put him on a watch list. But, as a clinician, trying to ground and clarify delusions with this patient— it’s a step that is important to not overlook, amirite?
