(the only reason I suggested a kill switch approach is that I assume a Go-style retract would not handle the situation where you have already lost control, perhaps because the entire loss of control was beyond your control!)

Let me start by confessing that my understanding/experience in this space is far far less than yours and other experts so my question is humbly asked in that regard :)

> it's also an abuse vector from past maintainers

Is this not less of a practical concern than someone squatting the domain?

13.02.2024 12:35 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Would there be some way when proving you own a domain you can also include some kind of kill switch, that allows you to revoke the ability to publish future versions under that module path (when you lose control to a new owner)?

If you're in the UK, keep an eye on your lights. You might seem them flicker in the next minute or so as I open up Microsoft Teams and it drains the life from me, my computer and the power grid.
