This year we have two charities we have supported before:
The NSPCA (the new name for the combined DSPCA and ISPCA), and My Lovely Horse Rescue.
Our new charity this year is the wonderful @childrensbooksireland.ie - among so much other work, they gift thousands of new books to children in need...
*** MY XMAS APPEAL 2025 ***
Every year at Christmas I run an appeal asking you to donate the price of a book (or whatever you can!) to some incredibly worthy charities who need funds at this time of year. So far, in 8 years I've raised over €250,000...

There goes the only government minister known to read serious works of literature
(Disclaimer this is not a political post, well not that sort of political post, no need to take this as an opportunity to tell me how much you hate the minister thanks very much)
Calvin & Hobbes walking along a tree trunk laid across a river as a bridge.
40 years ago today the world was introduced to a small boy and his best friend. Happy birthday Calvin & Hobbes.

#Jaguars win 35-6 vs. Chargers. First time Liam Coen’s team has not allowed a touchdown. Also the most points his team has scored. Complete game. No punts.

03.11.2025 00:18 — 👍 31 🔁 6 💬 4 📌 1We're really good at roasting coffee but our business is meant to be about more than that. In 2025 we'll give up 4% of all our revenue. 1% to staff on top of salary/bonus. 3% to good causes.
Our model shows what's accepted as necessary for globocorps to survive is nonsense

They didn't get 1 TD elected in the GE...
They got 5/949 local seats - 0.5% of seats available.
STFUP!!

What we’ve seen across marriage equality, repeal, and this election is there’s about 60% of those who vote who want a progressive, inclusive Ireland. We need to focus on this 60% an not give oxygen to the 6% who have been slowly been sinking toward brain washing since Covid
