I'm a librarian. Also Book Advocate. I do a lot of work recommending and promoting more diverse stories. I do work regarding challenged books. I have seen similar discourse that "librarianship is not activism." It's *all* activism.

People love to cosplay w/others' ritual stuff b/c it's easier than the hard, humbling work of actual solidarity, which involves learning how to shut up & stop imposing your worldview all over everything & putting yourself on the line once in a while to make things better for others. Way less fun.

When your challah dough somewhat fails - barely rose - you pivot and make two tiny challah "rolls", one stuffed with cinnamon and raisins, and one stuffed with off-brand Nutella.

I work in public libraries, and already, I am seeing multiple events pop up on 9/16. I have a conference during Hol Hamoed Sukkot, still deciding if I am attending this year... For multiple reasons, but that's one consideration.
