2 has some cool stuff going on; it explores the lore, which is interesting, but I prefer the suggestion the first leaves us with.

3 is standalone, sort of an “elsewhere…” situation, 4 picks up after the events of the second film.

The first movie Is one of my faves!
2 is okay, but it lacks the frantic claustrophobia of 1. Worth watching, though. I struggled with the rest. 3 is a comedy, 4 is more action-oriented, both are skippable.

K.W. Jeter sounds fantastic! I know I owned Mantis at some point, have to check to see if I still have it when I get home.

Synchronistically, I’m reading PKD’s Valis and it turns out the character I’m vibing with in that book is based on Jeter!

It changes with every reread, but “Probiscis” was my introduction (via a dude called a dude called Death Metal/Dahmer Dave who photocopied it from a Year’s Best collection for me) so it holds a special place in my heart.

“Hallucigenia” really stood out in this last reread, too.
