Maduro’s VP Rodriguez is already sworn in as interim president, despite all her outrage, and Trump has been praising her. Meanwhile, Trump has already derided opposition leader Maria Corina Machado as, “not respected."

What a brave man! To bravely volunteer other people’s boots before his own. How about your own boots? “We’re not afraid…” Everyone else needs to have courage so you don’t have to.

Once again, it’s time to piss in the wind and suggest that Congress put a leash and muzzle on this monster. Democrats are still bed-wetting about standing up to military intervention, “But what if I look weak?!” Grow a backbone. People want a world with rules. Where soldiers’ lives aren’t forfeit.

And Putin should finally just tell the USA that it’s time to fuck off with Ukraine, because again, zero moral standing. Not what I really what the USA to do, but he’d be right.

2026 was supposed to be the year China was ready to attack Taiwan. It’s dropping hints that it’s ready. China probably should feel emboldened, since the US no longer recognizes sovereignty of weaker nations in its own backyard. And it’s tied up in Venezuela (its own dick) even if it could call foul.

Unless the US is prepared to deploy for the long haul, this military intervention might get sticky. And - Maduro was indicted in a NY court on sketchy charges? Those might not stick. I don’t know if I’d trust Pam Bondi on this. What if he is let go and released? And comes back?

Trump is a clueless bastard who probably thinks that whatever he does next in terms of government-building will be easy. Venezuela has dissidents, politicians, the military, and regime loyalists who would all like to be the only word in government.

I think people should stop with the Trump-Putin comparisons. I don’t think Trump wants to add VZ to the US. I think he wants a compliant right wing government that will let him deport all the Venezuelans immigrants there. Putin wants to rebuild the USSR and all Ukrainians to speak Russian.
