In the first quarter of 2025, Louisiana's real GDP decreased at an annual rate of 1.7% while the national rate decreased at 0.5%

Using the 2023 ACS data, the Center for Economic and Business Research at LSUS studied rental housing affordability and availability in Louisiana. We estimate the Shreveport-Bossier area has only 59 affordable rental units per 100 ELI renter households.
