If you wanted to try AHS again I'd suggest Roanoke. It's a documentary/ found footage season and it's excellent. Our favourite of them.

I have my issues with BISAC but why is BIC so terrible?

Yup, it's absolutely heinous. The role of government should be to protect the people from investor greed, but they're so tightly intertwined and feel entirely insulated from the risk. The Great Depression was a great wealth transfer of the 20th century.

Investors and government saw the housing bubble and really said 'hold my beer' on it.

The transition just hits so hard because it takes all the energy from Sanctified and just deflates it like a balloon, which is such a perfect demonstration of how quickly depression can appear, and how it saps everything from you. It's so melancholy and desperate and beautiful, tinged with hope.

Does anything hit so hard as going right from Sanctified into Something I Can Never Have on the Pretty Hate Machine album? It's such a temp changeup, but it's so perfectly shocking. I couldn't listen to this one for so long because it triggered by depression, but it's my favourite NiN song.

On this morning's walk, @jmkeep.bsky.social found some young guy's wallet. So we brought it back on our way home, his grandfather was there, and immediately knew what we must've had. He shed a tear. It was really sweet.
