Things may have changed since I left, but when I lived in KS it was basically impossible to live without driving unless you were in the KC metro area or Lawrence. This is basically an immediate criminalization of all trans people in the state.

It’s literally illegal for a trans person to drive to the DMV—the only way to get there in most parts of the state—to comply with this law. I would not put it past local bigots to capitalize on that fact.

The threat of arrest for trans people is an implicit threat of rape. This is what happens to incarcerated trans women.

it's 2026: kansas passes a law nullifying trans people's licenses. crickets.
