Through its global introduction it has also introduced the West to elements of the Japanese culture. This resulted in an influence of #mangaastehtics in Western comic art and an adaption of "manga storytelling techniques into mainstream literature and cinema."

Since the manga artstyle is very expressive, it is easy to read and to get immersed into the story and emotions. This is one of the reasons why it was able to cross language and #culturalbarriers and capture the heart of many. They offer a wide variety of genres where everyone will find something

Manga on the other hand are most often black and white with only special editions being colored.
It's characteristics are "rich symbolic storytelling", dedicated manga writers, a huge fan community, weekly releases, and most importantly stories can go on for forever.

I want to take a look at the difference between graphic novels and manga and how manga's popularity has influenced Western popular culture.
Let's first take a look at what #manga is and why readers prefer it over #graphicnovels.
Both use illustrations to tell a story.

All in all, after a little research I stand by my opinion that the negative aspects of virtual idols are at the moment still greater that those of real life idols. Having a human soul behind your idols for me has more relevance even if the potential for controversies exists.

On the other hand, "The primary allure of virtual K-pop groups is that these digitized idols are not limited to human capabilities and thus can appeal to and interact with a wider audience"
They can reach a bigger international audience by being able to speak multiple languages for example.

Fans are also concerned that the fandom will become more toxic.Idols have been harassed for a long time now but with AI people lose their inhibitions because theythink that there are no real people behind it.Fans are concerned that this will swap over to the real idols kpopsource.com/threads/ai-i...

Idols in Korea are already under heavy pressure to behave and look perfect. Introducing AI idols who are able to be absolutely flawless will not help in making the K-pop industry less toxic and will only force more limitations like stricter diets, longer training hours in order to be able to compete

I would say that if you are a fan of K-pop you should be aware of both positive AND negative sides of being in the industry.
Another article says: "While Hallyu [makes money] for the country, how far are we willing to ignore the plight of [] girls that are used as tools to generate wealth for men.
13.11.2025 03:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
So, in conclusion, the bright side of Hallyu is definitely blinding fans. Thus by either just being ignorant or willingly ignoring the issues fans are supporting the covering up of any scandals.
13.11.2025 03:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
They do not want to deal with possible negative aspects of this industry because then they would have to admit that their perfect idols are not so perfect after all.
13.11.2025 03:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
As an international K-pop fan all these scandals are things that you will only find if you look for them. Towards the outside K-pop is portrayed as this fun and happy world full of beautiful men and women who sing and dance in perfect harmony. Many fans also chose to intentionally ignore problems.

Like this video shows there are rankings of their bodies which the of course also projects a certain image towards young girls in Korea who then try to look like them. Which is a whole other problem on its own.

Of course, the K-pop industry as a whole is quite unfair towards its idols. But this thread is about #MisogynyInKorea
Women face public shaming, sexist abuse, cyber bullying, impossible standards and so much more.

Especially the image of male K-pop idols is seen as important to protect. To quote the article: βK-pop tries to present a cleansed image of male stars as being kind, generous, that they are unlike patriarchal, sexist and unstylish Korean menβ. On the other hand, girl groups face heavy disadvantages.

Exploding the myths behind K-pop
Bright and irresistible, K-pop provides the beat to South Koreaβs youth culture. But behind the perfect smiles and dance routines are tales of sexism and abuse. By Crystal Tai
International fans stay relatively ignorant to the misogyny present in Korea because they are blinded by the bright and fun side of Hallyu. Especially in K-pop sexism is hugely represented.
This article shows good examples of that.

I noticed that especially the later Jia-han seemed to constantly be searching for something without really knowing what exactly he is looking for in the end.
Ultimately I can only say that the movie felt kind of bittersweet but not in a bad way.

I think that that is kind of sad, to know that had you existed a little later a big part of yourself would have been treated so fundamentally different and so fundamentally better. However, as it is you get so see people have better opportunities than you had and that can also be something good.

I liked that some scenes moved quites slowely and the way the world around them was portrayed. The lesson that I took away from the movie was that even if you try to surpress who you are, it will only end up hurting not just yourself but also the people around you.

The film #YourNameEngravedHerein was quite interesting to watch.Although there were some scenes that I didnt fully understand I think thats because the movie was made by a person who experienced similar scenes in real life and thus some context for someone completely from the outside may be missing

I believe that it is fair to say that esports deserve the same respect as other professional sports, even if the focus of professionalism lies somewhere else than finding the limits of your body.

What are the benefits of esports? Find out how electronic sports can boost an individuals competency, social skills and offer new career opportunities.
All the articles I have found emphasize that having strategies & building a community where teamwork is key is one of the most important part of esports.
However, "hand-eye coordination, quick reflexes, problem-solving, and strategic thinking" are also essential.
