There are not many places that would accept poems that mention the start of the Pyrocene, or about Soviet era exploration of Venus, but Tamarind is a unique jewel in the world.

People who submit are often remarkable researchers in their own right, but I am pleased to say that they just began including poetry, and am honored to help inaugurate the form in its pages.

A few years ago, a group of scientists in the UK set out to do something extraordinary. Not the amazing things they did in labs, but to establish a literary journal, called Tamarind.

Since its founding, it has published fiction and non-fiction to examine science as a human endeavor.
