I swear he thinks the Chagos Islands and Diego Garcia are two different places and two different 'deals' based on who's talking to him

I think you're underestimating Jenrick's shameless shapeshifting

But that's in the delivery, not the destination

If labour MPs don't support it - and I don't know how you reach that conclusion - then maybe they shouldn't have stood on it in the first place

The agenda that the country voted for you mean?

How is he racist? Ludicrous given his history

If anything you're the one that's being blind to anything that's not painting Starmer in the worst light.

Your bio says you've been here since 1996. His speech specifically refers to the 2023 'Boriswave' of largely non-EU migrants that arrived.

Nonsense. Whilst I'd agree learning a language can expand your empathy and be encouraged, it certainly does not mean that not having a second language means you're not of good character.

If you're going to judge his character by his 'pronouncements quoted' at least know what he actually said: "in a diverse nation like ours, and I celebrate that, these rules become even more important. Without them, we risk becoming an island of strangers, not a nation that walks forward together."

My point is speaking a foreign language is a meaningless metric of someone's character

Canada is officially bilingual. I suspect that AI answer includes people who's first language isn't English. It's only a single digit number of those going through the UK educ system that do a foreign language

He's Canadian. 40% of them speak French

I found the reaction to it, having listened to it live, quite bizarre

Full quote: "in a diverse nation like ours, and I celebrate that, these rules become even more important. Without them, we risk becoming an island of strangers, not a nation that walks forward together."

Feel you may be missing out the more important part of what Trump said!

This is just keeping the myth of the Brexit unicorn going rather than honestly telling people this was the only way it was going to be

I see the same pattern in Farage's statements. Throw out a line early on which appears in line with the facts, then spend the following days casting doubt on the evidence, stating how there's other [i.e. his real] views

Let's ban opinion polls until 6 months before a general election, then it'll save you the embarrassment of headlines like this

Got to be checking for a 666 on that one when it comes

Who could possibly remember what was said 50 years ago apart from the people with perfect memories that back Farage's version of events which Tice said are made up anyway

He was offered one by all accounts in 2016 but can't find anything after that to say he took it up.

You might be confusing RT with the BBC who gave Nigel his own show every Thursday at 10.30pm. Question Time I think it was called ๐Ÿ˜‰

Good.

Meanwhile here's Nigel Farage with some of his regular appearances on Russia Today and with the Russian ambassador and the wife of the guy bribing Gill

Surely you could fit in "antivaxxer conspiracy theorist" in your headline whenever that "journalist" is mentioned?
