I feel this in my bones. I've rewritten so many parts of my game's code after having realized a better/more efficient way, the most recent example turning my collision checks from ~150 loops to ~4. My mantra is, I needed to learn from the first to make the last, even if it doesn't seem that way.

I say "where" but perhaps better to say "how" to generate the .c files, which in vs you just create a file, give it whatever type you want by naming it *title*.c or whatever, then it's basically a text editor to write into, but also you can open terminals inside it to compile with as well.

the resource files from the various assets (sprites, tilesets etc) using the "rescomp" tool, which could be confusing if you're used to just dropping pngs into a modern engine. But ya, other than that if you're wondering for example where to write code vscode tends to be the go-to.

Ok so I assumed before looking at it it may have dependencies that don't come with it, but it appears java 8 is the only one (a lot of the sdks I've used required versions of make, lcc, sdcc, etc etc) which then becomes a pain to setup. Other than that though, it could be the need to generate 1/2

Hahaha omg, brakes are just always on by default, that would make driving much more annoying. Though I guess that's technically what electric cars with regenerative braking do? But I was imagining having to hold the "unbrake" and gas pedal at the same time. 😂

Have you looked into homebrew? I've gotten pretty comfortable with game boy, and messed with psx recently. Not sure what you've been using for your games but they tend to have sdks for C and C++ at least.

It lifts the dampers. Technically the dampers move because of it, so it's named after them? I do agree it's confusing from the perspective of the resulting sound with it in use though. I tend to say sustain pedal.

By committee? Not sure I follow. I've known of many great collaborations by composers in "sound teams" of yester-year, and heck I just released a collab album with some folks. If you mean because someone asked them to rather than of their own volition then I could understand to some degree.

I want directly! I want them all in a room brainstorming amazing music together! Of course I'm sure that's quite unrealistic, but a guy can dream! 😂
