Yeah most of those squares are black because most people use light mode.

No not really, but the good thing about that is you can retry if you run out of time.

Oh yeah, if you're in dark mode you get a white square and in light mode you get a black square just so you can see them clearly.

Things get hectic sometimes and it slips my mind.

The colors are based on what your 8-letter word was. They're assigned in rainbow order for the 8-letter word, then all the other words follow those colors for each letter. It's the only way I could think of that lets you share your path without spoilers.

They're intentionally harder on the weekend. You can always just retry at the end of the 5 min though if you want.

I don't get it, is that a problem with bluesky or eightile?

It depends a lot on whether or not the ones you find are the most common acceptable answers. I don't know if these are the only ones for today, but all the ones I found today are normal words. You can see my path is different:

I hear you on the order of the 4-letter word. Proper nouns aren't supposed to be accepted but sometimes they creep into the word list.
