BoxBoy is proper good. Would love to see more of that scale of game from the Nintendo studios.

There's an argument that TotK is the better game if you only play one but I wouldn't even recommend that. I think BotW has a clearer identity and intent.

It's the same game, is the long and short of it.

I don't think the building stuff is particularly interesting and doesn't really work in a "Zelda" game for me. I also don't think the underground stuff is particularly compelling.

The dungeons are a little bit better though.

- Breath of the Wild
- DK: Bananza
- BoxBoy (technically HAL Laboratories)
- Mario 3D World is 2013, but it got re-released with extra content, so I'll throw it in there.

They've still got it, but TotK has REALLY soured me on the current Nintendo style

DK is fine.

Looks good, plays good, but I think I really need Nintendo to make a structured video game again.

It's basically a treatise on the 3D platformer with the intent being to explore how one might go about procedurally generating levels in the playground styles of Mario 64/Sunshine/Odyssey!
