There are significant problems with the way that sexual violence is dealt with in the criminal justice system.

There is chronic underreporting.

Investigations take years.

The court backlog means several more years before a trial.

Complainants give up.

Prosecutions collapse.

These problems require considered, intelligent solutions.

Any “tough on crime” policy which does not have this as its centrepiece is a distraction.

A con.

Don’t let con artists and hatemongers distract from the real issues.

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

No, charging VAT on private healthcare is not a re-run of the VAT/education debate.

It wouldn't just impact 5% of the population - everyone who sees a private dentist/optician would pay more.

And it wouldn't raise £2bn. Plausibly it would lose money.

Writing in that right wing rag, The Telegraph today, Rachel Reeves accuses Jeremy Corbyn of trying to destroy 'her party'.
I think you'll find that's Keir Starmer's party, Rachel.
Anyway, it certainly isn't the Labour Party of Keir Hardie, and it absolutely deserves to fail.

‘Self-termination is most likely’: the history and future of societal collapse An epic analysis of 5,000 years of civilisation argues that a global collapse is coming unless inequality is vanquished

For thousands of years, we have been parasitised, exploited and destroyed by elites. Our survival depends on overthrowing them.

What gets me is that everyone has an an opinion about what they think is happening! No one, and I mean no one, knows what is happening. Why waste your time posting how you feel about something which may or may not be true 🤯

I cannot get over how no one in mainstream politics even disputes factual claims like this. Everyone admits that Israel is starving children and murdering desperate civilians. The only ‘debate’ is about what to call it and whether the motives of people protesting it are pure enough.

Noel and Liam Gallagher’s brother charged with rape and threats to kill.

I bet there’s going to be a massive riot at the next Oasis gig, right?

Wrong, because:

1. He’s white.

2. Oasis aren’t responsible for his actions.

Just like an entire asylum hotel is not responsible for one offender…

Labour focused on appeasing Reform, not beating them, says Jeremy Corbyn Former Labour leader says his new party will inspire hope, not fear, and promises to reset ‘broken’ political system * Jeremy Corbyn: This Labour government has failed. People want real transformative politics – we will give it to them Jeremy Corbyn has accused the Labour government of “appeasing” Reform UK by “scapegoating” migrants and minorities for its own domestic policy failures, saying his new leftwing political party would take on Nigel Farage instead. The veteran leftwing MP, who confirmed last week he was launching a new, as yet unnamed, movement with former Labour MP Zarah Sultana, said British politics was at a “critical juncture” with the rise of rightwing populism. He said he saw their role as providing hope, not fear. Continue reading...

My friend, Nabil, does not want to die. He doesn’t want his wife and six children to die, he doesn’t want his friends and neighbors to die. He doesn’t want the Israeli hostages to die. He doesn’t want Jews to die. He just wants food to eat, a shelter to live in, and to live his life, peacefully. 😡😡😡

Can the UK govt can do more on Israel? Other than a position on principle some may suggest a complete arms ban? One f35 component can contribute to a war crime. Sanctions on Israel? How many IDF personnel are trained in UK? Do RAF share intelligence? Are govt receiving funding from Israel lobbies?

Reform will legalise hand guns if elected.
It’s almost 30 years since Dunblane. Farage said then, that post Dunblane gun control legislation was “ludicrous”.
But we have not had another school shooting since 1996.

Farage wants to bring US style private health to UK & also US-style gun violence
