i want to use a lot of mecha gore in the sci fi comic i’m developing now. the main character is an android and i want the corpses of machines to have the same weight to the reader as they would to him

another thing i love about gundam is that the deaths are largely bodiless and i love that the gore is mecha gore. i love seeing corpses of mobile suits floating lifeless through space, shrapnel being scattered from the gaping wound of its cockpit like blood spatter. its such striking imagery

so many stories that center around war have their protags turn into heroes, which is why i’m really loving gundam bc it shows so clearly that war never turns those effected by it into something “greater” than they are. nobody is positively affected by war, its not aggrandized or romanticized at all
