A derivation-based homework problem from Shankarβs graduate level quantum mechanics textbook describes the probabilities associated with the orbital angular momentum for a particle. The last sentence tells the reader: βConvince yourself that the most general, normalized state with this property isβ¦β followed by an equation describing the normalized wave function written with Dirac notation.
βIβm convinced :)β was written as the solution to the homework problem in the first image.
