Plus, if they wanted to do that, they'd have to audit the shops' books and find cases of people paying with EBT who are being charged less. But, since nobody's getting SNAP benefits right now, their books will not show anyone paying with EBT at all. So they couldn't prove it.

They could try to make that argument, but the rule that they're relying on doesn't say anything about treating people who are hypothetically legally entitled to SNAP benefits differently. It's about treating people actually paying with EBT differently (in order to avoid overcharging the govt)

It's also just insulting on a certain level, because there *was* a presidential campaign that was based, at least in part, on (rhetorically) supporting trans rights, and that was the 2019-2020 campaign. The one that they WON.

It's the sort of thing people do when they want to advocate harming marginalised people whilst requiring anyone who points out what they're doing to peel off numerous layers of bullshit that many people won't see through.

And to me, trying to rewrite history in order to make it look like the Democrats ran a campaign in 2024 that was based (even in part) on defending trans people and lost because of it is a particularly dishonest way to support the trans-exterminationist campaign.

It's also just downright false for her to claim that Harris lost defending trans people, because Harris didn't defend trans people. She and other Democrats went out of their way to AVOID defending trans people. And then lost.
