With the current state of things, I finally got around to getting a membership with @eff.org and could not be more chuffed with the sticker they sent me in my welcome letter

Such a shame that there is no way for a non-technical person to get a PC or smart phone without giving one of these companies money. For the technically minded, Linux on a Dell is easy enough. But for smartphones it's that much harder, even graphene OS mostly runs on Google Pixel devices

If you have access to one, a laser cutter would probably let you make the light guide boards out of plastic for quite a bit cheaper. Especially if you need 80-160 of them

Meet Rayhunter: A New Open Source Tool from EFF to Detect Cellular Rayhunter is a new open source tool we’ve created that runs off an affordable mobile hotspot that we hope empowers everyone, regardless of technical skill, to help search out cell-site simulators

Is it possible for a node to not be at the lowest level of the network tree? Could a house be in a neighborhood but not a specific street. Maybe a null address shard could be considered local to that shard i.e. 9800023 in your example would be node 23 in the 98 neighborhood but no specific street

The only unknowns that immediately come to mind; what happens if a street has 100 homes but needs to add one more. Does each address space (street, neighborhood, city) have to know the number of nodes/sub-networks it will have to interact with ahead of time or is that hard coded in the system design

The equipment they seized seems identical to the equipment presented in this helpful how to on running a sim farm from a website that is just out there, on the first page of google results

I'm seeing articles about the recent Secret Service SIM farm bust with scary quotes about shutting down all cell service, tying it to the UN meetings, or saying it must be a nation state intelligence operation. A quick google though shows the same tools being used to farm social media accounts
