It is good to look away from the darkness in our world and find peace and rest in beauty. For me, beauty can be found in art. As early autumn emerges, I’m trying to notice and capture the changes I see daily.

Seek out beauty and when you find it….spread it around!

My goal isn’t to recreate a static landscape scene. Because nature is never static. It is constantly changing. I try to capture the feeling of a scene, not every rock or twig.

If looking at a landscape painting evokes a feeling similar to what you’ve experienced in nature, I’ve done my job!

One of the most frequently commented on elements of my paintings has to be the way I paint people.

The movement, energy, and mood of the figures is captured with just a few brush strokes but tells a whole story.

After a couple of wonderful weeks in Northern Michigan, it is nice to be home and back in the ordinary. Our backyard is in full bloom with flowers (and weeds!), birdsong, and Millie’s fruitless efforts to catch snakes.
