TS is migrating to federated repos :/ it feels misguided to me but alas.

20.05.2025 23:53 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hate the idea that we should roll over on whatever cultural wedge Fox News pushes for a given cycle. It will ALWAYS be something. SOME "othered" group will be targeted because that's how they rally. That's literally all they do. That and protect business interests. We need to protect PEOPLE.

12.04.2025 18:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This seems fairly off topic and unrelated to anything I was saying. I'm going to stop engaging.
28.03.2025 15:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0All I've done in this thread is clearly state that the issue people were having is the disregard for civilian casualties and connect it to the accepted definition of "war crime".
Only one person here has been self-righteous.
I don't know. The US and its allies regularly commit acts that fall under the definition of war crime. There is no authority to hold us accountable.
28.03.2025 15:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didn't anticipate you having trouble looking up the Geneva convention if you wanted to refer to it or read it. I still don't.
The situation you describe is not like the one we're discussing.
No, it seemed common sense to me that callous disregard for civilian life would be a war crime. But before I labeled it that way here I literally read the Geneva convention. It's not long, and this issue is spelled out very clearly.
28.03.2025 14:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It means that you know way less than would justify the statements you made.
Making an attack with explicit knowledge of likely civilian death is an explicit war crime per the Geneva convention.
You seem to try to change the subject a lot. It's disingenuous.
Take that thought and carry it with you in future threads regarding civilian casualties.
28.03.2025 13:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You're making false equivalences. War is brutal enough, but its inevitability is recognized. Collectively, we decided some acts are over the threshold and we call them war crimes. Bombing a residential building full of civilians to get a single person is one of them.
28.03.2025 12:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0People are pointing out that this all falls under the realm of "war crimes". Violence begets violence.

I'm sure my ancient German ancestors would cringe at how I pronounce Asmuth, but it doesn't matter.
So I was imagining hair 1/2" on your head after finishing chemo :)
12.03.2025 00:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Unfortunately their correlation is a common cause: chemotherapy. I actually do have a lot of hair back but it's very thin compared to a year ago. I'm doing ok all things considered. Family still smiling so I keep swimming. Chemo continues till it stops working or I can't deal.
12.03.2025 00:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0:) it's a bit removed: I found you because you found a thread where I mentioned neuropathy, and your profile says neuro-spicy. My neuropathy and my hair loss have the same cause, and one coming back represents a recovery of sorts. You probably meant a different type of neuro-spicy so, a stretch.
