Wow, the minister of education just said teachers are too greedy and now I have no doubt that there will be a strike. "They chose less teachers and more money" isn't the bargaining statement he thinks it is.

This morning's gov update on negotiations with teachers sounds more like an attempt to "get ahead" of the story than it is to give an update. They don't want to pay teachers what they're worth; they want teachers to be among the average of the country instead of leading the way.

I wish that I could give out prizes for this kind of brilliance.

I still think we have only seen the beginning of the scandal with the Mraiche crime family. Millions of bucks from rancid Tylenol and other procurement contracts are not paid off with just some jobs for nephews and a couple hockey tickets.

I don't know if this person is from Alberta but this applies here.

Remember that CPTSD will try to convince us that normal, natural changes in our bodies, for example due to aging or hormonal fluctuation, is somehow evidence we are "bad," "broken," or "crazy"-- whereas it's actually evidence we are humans w/ perfectly imperfect human bodies.

However accomplishing this is coming at a significant cost while we see that there is yet no answer for where significant money has gone and private companies with connections appear to be profiting off of public dollars.

As I said, I am going to try and make this shift, as many of my colleagues around the province are. It just hurts that the work so many love to do, and so many recognize as needed, is being swept under a rug.

We do need more treatment space - I don't dispute that at all, 4/?

I signed for a job with the public service having built my career in community health and now I have to pivot to learn about life as a treatment focused provider. I will do it, as best I can because having a job is better than not having one.

But we should all know by now that cuts are happening.

Those agencies that relied on the funds are closing their doors, because who can replace that large of a chunk of their funding? And the public employees are being moved to treatment -focused roles. I know this because I am one of them.

I'm glad for the union that means I still have a job, but 2/?

The next time the AB government says their restructuring of the health system is going swimmingly, read drowning instead. Programs in the area of illness and addiction prevention are being cut - both in the community through funded agencies and in the public service. 1/?

I think the thing folks don’t understand about Albertan progressives is that we are just as ornery/friendly, numerous, and dedicated to our cause as Albertan conservatives.

We’ve been putting up with these chuds since kindergarten. We’re handling it.
