(it's animal crossign! it's stardew! wait no it's evil) - cloyingly bright artstyle evocative of Nintendo's golden era - everything is so irritatingly positive that it's obvious it's gonna turn dark real quick - you KNOW this blank faced motherfucker is going to stoicly brandish a steak knife near the end (why the fuck is it always steak knives?) - gore! that's all - doesn't have much to say outside of "wouldn't it be fucked up if that happened" - made by a guy who describes Happy Tree Friends as "epic" - oh no there's live action eyes on everythinnnngggggg - does the author love cosy games or hate them? it ultimately does not matter (the last line is placed next to the vacant staring face of Boo-Boo Binkums, a purple carebear-esque mascot with big shiny eyes and a neutral expression) right: my proposition VAST (it's silent hill! it's dead space! wait no it's about local community) - nightmare world of flesh and rust - surrounded by inhuman creatures - oh god is that blood I can't tell - wait a minute the Monarch Of Silence just wants me to stop being so loud? - this is a library? - aw man sorry dude can I help you with anything? - you're having a low stakes zoning dispute with something called The Encroaching Maze? -fuck it, okay. become a pillar for a community of body horror entities - dressups! - your den is so cute - you could explore actual mature themes and nuanced low stakes community conflicts that contrast with the absurdity of it all - The Avatar Of Sorrow broke up with their partner and now nobody can be sad, fix it! at the bottom of this list is a deformed creature with two long, winglike arms sprouting from a vaguely pelvis-shaped body and a fat, suffocated looked head with a distended, toothed proboscis

"cute wholesome thing that's actually dark and fucked up!" is the most overdone indie game trope with the least amount of tangible exploratory results

I want to explore "fucked up evil thing that's actually sweet and wholesome and covers mundane subjects", that feels like it has actual potential
