Newest NBA idea to end tanking, probably.

All this is is OKC ramping up pressure on the Jazz to play their guys so the Jazz win more games and increase the probability for them getting the pick.

Glad he said “guessing man” and not “betting man”.

Ben Anderson does a nice job here outlining the absurdity of some of the commentary surrounding the Jazz’s recent strategies to develop young players at the expense (sometimes) of wins. The problem is, they still may be too good to lose enough games…we’ll see.

That is a coach who knows he has job security…the scene that got me…the Jazz are down 2 after blowing a 19 point lead and the camera pans to Lauri, Nurk, and Love laughing and joking…they know the bigger picture here.

Don’t blame the Teams. It’s the system that they have been given…they just do it within the framework of what the NBA allows. It would be organizational malpractice for the Jazz to actively win games…unless you want OKC to win the finals for the next 15 years.

Really interested to see how the Jazz approach this 2nd half. They have enough cushion where they may go after this game; or, do they rest JJJ and Lauri during 4th quarter?

You can already see the vision…when JJJ is in, there just isn’t much space for the Magic to get good quality shots…

And then the Jazz are just punishing mismatches on the others side. It isn’t perfect, but you have to be excited if you are a Jazz fan.

Over last 10 games, Ace Bailey is averaging 16 points per game on 46.8% shooting (37.0%) from three, and I'm not totally convinced he has the capability to grow facial hair, yet. I'm imagining him in that new line-up with Key, Winter Soldier, JJJ, and Walker, and...he's going to be a monster.

I think Walt is going to exceed his projections, eventually.

I feel that, if I was an NBA player, and I got traded for cash “considerations”…not just cash, but for considerations of cash, it may be time to hang ‘em up. It’s sounds like the other team is saying to other “y’all can think about paying us some cashfor him, but that’s all.”

Darn…Can the Jazz not do this until I finish work?

Just saw the Ringer's top 100 players update (29 Jan). Lauri was #28 and Key was #55. Have to think that Kessler would be on there if not for his season ending injury early in the year. Before the season, Lauri was coming in the 50s, and Key wasn't on any top 100 lists.

The Jazz are certainly due for a little positive lottery math going their way.

I think that’s also about as many offensive rebounds the Jazz have given up so far. So symbolic.

It just feels like it takes so much effort for the Jazz to win games without Lauri, that at some point, they just kinda hit a point where the fatigue compounds and they just hit a wall. Like, that win against Minnesota took also much…maybe they find a 2nd wind in the 2nd half.

Remember when we were upset because the prices of eggs were a bit high? Good times…
