Lady Gaga dancing with the Bene Gesserit in Baron Harkonnen's throne room was not what I expected to be watching this morning. But I'm down with it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vByn...

#SkeletonCrew is really special. Telling from the kids perspective is genius and the adventure so far has been brilliant. Booby traps, treasure, pirates, aliens (including cat owl?!). Cast are brilliant. Music is brilliant. It’s funny too!

My nearest cinema growing up. They were kind enough to screen one of my short films back in the day.

Had so much fun with the first two eps of #SkeletonCrew. Distinctly #StarWars. Refreshing blend of coming-of-age adventure, pirate action, bit of mystery, makes for something special. Kid performances are brilliant. Feels totally at home for December/Christmas/family viewing and can’t wait for more.

Holding space for the incredible foley and mix work on Wicked. The footsteps and cloth movements during the dance sequences for all the many characters on screen are subtle but it’d feel ‘off’ without them.

Watched the new 4K disc of #TheTerminator last night. Looks and sounds incredible. What a film. I watched it way too young. So many nightmares. (Terminator and haircuts nightmarish).

You know they probably spent many months figuring out how to redesign Toothless for live action before realising the original design is best! PS: If not already aware take a look at the new Universal theme park with a how to train your dragon world and start saving to take the family. 😝

New version is written and directed by Dean DeBlois who did the originals. High hopes! John Powell is back. Tears guaranteed! 7 months till release, CG Toothless will look magical Ed I’m sure.

It’s rare for a movie from decades ago to still be as scary now as it was when it was released, but this one still knocks me out of my seat every time I watch it

Still from The Day of the Jackal (2024). A man with a serious expression is looking through the scope of a rifle, positioned as if aiming. He has short, light brown hair and is wearing a dark, long-sleeve top. The background is dimly lit, creating a tense and focused atmosphere. A closed notebook lies on the surface in front of him.

Disappointed Eddie Redmayne didn’t climb into the sniper suitcase and pull out a fantastical creature. Otherwise The Day of the Jackal was thrilling.

The Holiday (2006) is a winter romcom that taught my teen self the unrealistic expectation of the home a trailer editor could afford in LA.
