Park Takes Aim at Wall Blocking Beloved Marina Bike Path LOS ANGELES - On November 7th, CD11 Councilmember Traci Park filed a motion before City Hall calling on the City Planning Department to β€œrevoke the issuance of the Coastal Exemption

It may not seem like much to those who don’t live nearby, but to the 1000s who used this route to get to Admiralty Park, the library and the Braude Bike Path, the closing of this entrance was a big deal. Now, CD11 CM Traci Park is working to reopen it.

Many people are outraged that Trump is demolishing part of the White House. But of course Trump can't do it without help. It's ACECO LLC of Silver Spring MD ("full-service demolition") that is tearing down the People's House. You can call them and let them know how you feel. 1/

The sudden appearance of all these Trump administration accounts on Bluesky is ominous. They're not here in good faith and they're not here to troll.

They're setting something up. It likely has to do with a coming attack on Bluesky.

FWIW: Pandora is great, the interface is much more usable and near as I can tell they don’t insert fake music into their playlists in order to avoid royalties (yes, that’s a thing).

COLUMN: Bonin Points Fingers, Yet the Ramada Boondoggle Began on His Watch VENICE - Behind every failure, there is finger-pointing. Consider, for example, the still-to-get-started Marina Del Rey Ramada conversion to low-income housing, which has thus far cost the city over $...

New op-ed. As we determine who’s to blame for empty Homekey rooms, stop with the finger-pointing. Nonprofit housing developers are exhibiting hubris rooted in a deeply flawed system.

Every major talent that works for ABC and Disney should refuse to show up for work until Jimmy Kimmel is reinstated.

Marvel movies need to shutdown. Ditto the sitcoms.

Collective boycott.

Corporations love money more than anything,& this will harm them and force them to do the right thing.

Segregation in the City of Angels: A 1939 Map of Housing Inequality in L.A. Endorsed by New Deal-era federal housing policy, "redlining" encouraged housing inequality in U.S. cities.

Actually, housing segregation in Los Angeles is largely the risidual effect of redlining in the middle of the 20th century, which was the result of a Federal policy.

People who’ve lived in these neighborhoods for generations, who have their net worth wrapped up in them, who send kids to local schools and attend PTA and neighborhood council meetings, deserve a seat at that table, too.

For Sale: One Mostly Empty "Luxury" Building The Citrine Hollywood received its certificate of occupancy on September 6, 2024.

Speaking of high-priced apartments in new builds, can we talk about why there are so many over-priced empty units? Empty Los Angeles spells it out below.

I would also mandate a better accounting of all the empty units in the city. If, as our reporting showed last year, over 1000 Project-Homekey funded units are sitting empty, how many of these expensive new builds are half full?
