I believe this is the first novel with a droid POV in SW books. So we established things about interiority, awareness, memory, etc, which was a lot of fun. And ND gets to grow over the course of the book.

In a purely economic sense people taking low wages depresses the market. But none of us are pure economic beings. There is a living, breathing person behind the decisions and we have to, as a collective, raise the floor for everyone and not just ourselves.
