Still better than wiring the damn thing into her jaw like they do for Snake's codec in MGS. I guess it be docked into a port on her head and the hair is just... flowing around it? Like, maybe it's like this because it's analog and not digital, so it's too big to install inside like modern ones.

It's interesting that they put it over her hair instead of under it, where it would be more convenient. I'd say it's some wireless receiver but they don't seem to do that kind of thing much in ZZZ.
