Hey #langsky!

If you had to estimate, how do you split your language learning time (total = 100%) across these aspects?

๐Ÿ“š Vocabulary (flashcards)
๐Ÿง  Grammar
๐ŸŽง Listening
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Speaking
๐Ÿ“– Reading
โœ๏ธ Writing

Do you also use mnemonics interchangeably in multiple languages you speak, or do you stick to your strongest language?

๐ŸŒ Language learners! For those fluent in 2-3+ languages: How do you approach learning the next one?

๐Ÿ“– Start from scratch (books, courses)?
๐ŸŽง Full immersion (listening, reading)?
๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ A mix of both?

How does past experience shape your strategy? Share your thoughts! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Thanks for the shared info!

By the way, Clozemaster recently launched a new program (currently only web-based) that supplements the learning from its main app. Itโ€™s called Common Ear and focuses on native audio exercises.
Still in the early phase, though I find it promising.

Interesting! Never heard of someone preferring Mango over the likes of Rocket, Cloze or Memriseโ€ฆwhatโ€™s so particularly good about Mango in comparison to the others?

When learning several languages simultaneously, I always choose at least one, that belongs to a language family that is completely new to me and one (or more) from families where I already speak at least one.

How accurate are the respective levels? Is a B2 text really for B2 students? Iโ€™ve seen such sites in German, but they had way easier texts than the level would normally require.

The European version, since I will need it for communication with Portuguese officials.
Itโ€™s not a must, but I want to surprise them with a gesture of good will and whatโ€™s better than suddenly talking in their own language. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Indeed I do. When it comes to reading Portuguese I can understand more than 50%, mostly out of context and thanks to my Spanish, but learning how to actively use the language is a whole new level.

Hey #langsky! Iโ€™m planning to learn Portuguese and aim for B2 in 1 year. Any tips on how to structure my learning? How can I best leverage my B2/C1 Spanish to speed up progress? Also, whatโ€™s the go-to Portuguese proficiency test (like DELE/DELF)? Obrigado! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท
