3 of the back 5 clearly out of position. Midfield 2 slow and defensively weak and he’s rotating a £60m attacker even though he’s only playing one game a week. They may well win today but it’s very hard to have any optimism in what Amorim is doing.

Yes there’s still gaps in that squad but he’s still underachieving with what he has available, but it will require him to change too. Change formation, play your better players (Yoro, Mainoo) accept that Fernandes should not be the centrepiece of everything.

Think Amorims troubles are mostly self inflicted, whether it be slavish adherence to a flawed system or poor in game mgt. The argument that it’s the same group throwing the mgt under the bus the bus is wrong. He’s brought in 5/6 and moved the perceived problem players. This is not that bad a squad.

Fernandes will never lead United to a League title. Doesn’t fit into Amorims flawed system and in my opinion has been oiss poor this season.

Not sure it’s a team full of quality, but certainly if set up properly are capable of being competitive. The manager has become an issue and even with a full week’s preparation still look clueless.

Getting harder & harder to have faith in Amorim

Amorims stubbornness is an issue. Not advocating his sacking in any way but at times it seems his need to be proved right (in terms of system & player selection) is more important to him than being successful. A blind man can see the issue with team formation and also his refusal to start Mainoo

Would have Mainoo in my team anytime but he needs a Baleba type beside him not Casemiro , not Fernandes.

Think Amorim has misstepped and created this situation by saying Mainoo was competing with Fernandes for a place in team. He (KM) clearly feels he should be playing more(correctly) and feels this won’t happen as Amorim won’t drop BF. Situation made worse by fewer games this season.

Not sure what these good preseason vibes are based on, if you look at those results. One good result v Bournemouth, scratchy draws v Everton/Fiorentina. There is still a glaring lack of creativity in midfield.

Has Amorim the balls to make that call?

Think everyone is desperate for Amorim to succeed. But his stubbornness and his slavish adherence to the same one system regardless of how game is going will be his undoing.

True, the danger in waiting is Baleba will attract interest from elsewhere and it’s likely other positions on the field will also need tending to then eg right back, centre half.

Swap the keepers today and the result is different

Binging Ugarte on when chasing the game was a strange decision imo. De Ligt, Mbuemo, Cunha and Shaw in second half the pick. New goalkeeper badly needed and a Baleba type midfielder. Lots of positives.

Slightly revisionist, de Geas time to go had arrived, was poor in his last season. Henderson wanted out. However Onana was never the best replacement
