I just started playing this. Lots of fun so far.

I will say, the smoked gouda thing seems to be based on fond memories of Hickory Farms cheese baskets. After that i get asked for "Hoop Cheddar" several times a day and it is always followed by "we used to eat this with Mamaw and she would serve it with ritz crackers."

i worked for whole foods for many years and the average hippie granola types fell for plenty of conspiracies. You have live until you have had RAPE SEED screamed in your face repeatedly.

Yeah, i get a lot of raw milk cheese questions but they tend to not be angry about it because a have a good selection. I have a raw milk smoked gouda and that seems to really make them happy. Smoked gouda is the most popular cheese around this parts.🙄

She did not even care and proceeded to call it fake several times. At that point I just walked away and told her if she needed any more help to just ask. Those people aren’t worth arguing with. It’s all politics for them.

I also had someone get angry about annatto in cheddar cheese today. She said she didn’t want any of that fake food coloring in her food. I proceeded to explain to her that annatto is all natural and much cheaper than artificial food coloring so even cheap brands of cheese use it for color.

The limited amount of US cheese that does use animal Rennett is very expensive. When they see the price they won’t buy it anyway. So it’s just a political thing and not even a health thing.

I love to tell them that if they really want to stick to animal rennet then they need to eat French cheese because they use animal rennet almost all the time. The second they hear “French cheese” they about lose their mind. That’s absolutely the last thing they want.

Most of the time when I say this, the morons will reply with “I didn’t think vegetarians ate any animal products but what do I know?” That leaves me having to explain the difference between vegetarianism and veganism, which is always fun with these country ass fucks.

90% of US cheesemakers use microbial rennet because it is cheaper than animal rennet, which is a byproduct of the veal industry. It also makes their cheese available to people with different dietary restrictions, like vegetarians.
