Tom Homan was investigated for accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. Trump's DOJ shut it down. The FBI and Justice officials closed the investigation, which a Justice Department appointee had called a “deep state” probe in early 2025.

The FBI used hidden cameras to record Tom Homan taking a $50,000 bribe (in cold, hard cash) last year from undercover agents posing as business executives who Homan promised government contracts in a new Trump administration.

The Trump DOJ has now shut down the probe.

We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

Someone dies in a horrific act of political violence. An online manhunt ensues w/ fingers pointed in all directions. Alongside thoughts & prayers, framing wars rage, as partisans try to score all the political points they can. Then conspiracy theorizing takes root, the denial of inconvenient truths.

The president is sending the military to control American cities and if you're a reporter who's framing that illegal power grab as "pushing the boundaries of constitutionality" or "acting boldly to fight crime" or whatever, please go find another line of work where you won't get us all killed.

This is heartbreaking but as a parent, it’s also terrifying.
