To provide some context, I used to run Emacs via MSYS2, but our institutional antivirus seems to interfere with MSYS2, preventing package installations (pacman-key does not work). Thus my environment must migrate to Linux tools, while still depending heavily on Word+Powerpoint+Excel+OneDrive.

I did not know that graphical applications from Linux run natively in Windows via the Windows Subsystem for Linux. Probably the best option to run an Emacs workflow right now.

Maybe @msys2org.bsky.social has a clue of what is happening? This is a totally fresh new install. Neither downloading the installer nor using "winget install msys2.msys2" seems to work.

It's funny how, when giving talks about quantum things, students are way more receptive than teachers, who shy away with "it's too complicated" while pupils correctly understand quantum superposition and entanglement.
