Good afternoon Womble. About to finish Jay kristoff's Nervernight - a nice fantasy about an assassin school. It has a talking shadow Cat in it 😎
Listening to Gods of the wood as an audiobook as well

On my TBR as of yesterday. I reckon you like it?

It is the story of loss and sacrifice and how it destroys people that can't stop fighting.
It is a story that will stay with me, also I'm sure this is absolutely not for everyone.

with deeply human characters and a heartbreaking storyline.
It begins being a Harry Potter "what if the dark side wins" mix with the Handmaid's tale but evolves into a story of the evils of war and telling the tale that there are no winners in it.

This is also not a book, but a fanfiction. which of course brings its "problems" (no editing is done) but also "advantages" (the complete freedom to write and the rawness of the story).
I see all the problematic issues with it that people have mentioned but in the end this is beautiful written,

First of all, lots of trigger warnings in pretty much every category should you consider reading this. It is very dark, violent, cruel and sad.

The second installation of the Oracle trilogy about a medium/psychic solving murder cases.
As a full cast production this is pretty much a movie in your ears

I really liked the diversity of all the different creature, from angels, shifters, witches, demons and even a nøkk. The romance is somewhat expected and reads sometimes as a checklist of typical tropes.
All in all an exciting reading into a creative world.

Here it is the mystery of a series of murders and getting hints and thinking the story reveals itself, just to get a curve ball.
But then the end is fast paced, page-turning and heartbreaking as always.

This is textbook Maas. The beginning is nice, you start liking characters and dislike others, getting to know the world and society building up. The middle is, as often for her books, too long, too much repetition.
