On my TBR - looks good!
07.10.2025 19:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Red bean. No salted egg yolk!
06.10.2025 18:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Zeph - excellent book! I read Assassin's Apprentice a few months back and got completely hooked on Realm of the Elderlings. Currently reading Dragon Keeper. Love Robin Hobb books.
03.10.2025 18:31 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Side view of The Tawny Man trilogy, The Golden Fool, Fool's Errand & Fool's fate. The first letter of each title is decorated. A pic on each book shows a bird on the first book, dragons on the others.
The Tawny Man trilogy, best Realm of the Elderlings books so far! Loving Robin Hobb. Some say they are bleak & depressing. And yes, there is pain, war & misery. Major characters die & there are painful partings. BUT also warm loving relationships, triumph over adversity, & great character growth๐๐ช๐๐

Fool's Fate by Robin Hobb. Love it. ๐
26.09.2025 19:37 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes, she can be bleak, that's for sure. But also lots of warmth, I love the characters & their relationships.
25.09.2025 19:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Haven't posted for a month as I have been so involved with reading these Realm of the Elderlings books. They are SO good, I'm definitely now a Robin Hobb fan. Just started Fool's Fate, but will have to take a short break as my house is full of old friends this weekend. ๐๐ช๐
25.09.2025 18:42 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Loved The Tainted Cup & The Raven Scholar - will have to check out those others!
20.09.2025 19:29 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Fool's Errand by Robin Hobb - excellent book so far, as are all the others in this series!
19.09.2025 19:05 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I've been intending to read this, but have heard so many different opinions that it feels a bit daunting. You're making me think I should push it up the TBR a bit..
16.09.2025 21:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Absolutely! I didn't realise how much of a language nerd I was until I read that.
16.09.2025 21:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Mad Ship by Robin Hobb. Expect I will be answering these questions with various Realm of the Elderlings books for awhile yet!
29.08.2025 22:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Funny, I read this and just assumed you intended to use the old word from a century or so ago. Maybe you're older than you look??
27.08.2025 18:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb, first of the Liveship Traders trilogy. A slower start than the Farseer trilogy but really drawing me in now & looking forward to the rest!
22.08.2025 19:54 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0When I find a probable one or two star book, I'm not likely to finish or maybe even really start reading it. BUT I can't rate a book if I haven't read it properly. So I hardly ever give 1 or 2 star reviews which feels all wrong but not sure what to do instead?? I need a DNF option...

Book emotions:
๐ Horror at realising the library doesn't have the next books in the series I'm reading
๐ Delight at finding the entire next 2 trilogies in a secondhand book store
๐ Impatience to finish my library books so I can get to these!
Robin Hobb's Liveship Traders &Tawny Man trilogies.

Covers of 3 Robin Hobb books, Assassin's Apprentice, Royal Assassin and Assassin's Quest. Each has a different animal, the first a buck, the second is a wolf and the third a blue/green dragon
Just finished this amazing trilogy, and I LOVED it! Not sure why it's taken me so long to discover Robin Hobb. Will be taking a short break to read my library holds that just came in, then I'll be back to the Realm of the Elderlings! ๐๐ช๐

18.08.2025 19:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Finished Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb & immediately started on Assassin's Quest. Loving this series! ๐๐ช๐
15.08.2025 19:30 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Still getting around to starting the Temeraire books, have heard lots of good things. Have just discovered Robin Hobb though so I may be some time!
12.08.2025 19:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Waiting for my library hold on this one, looks great.
08.08.2025 22:24 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb. Think I am going to be hooked on this series!
08.08.2025 22:23 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Snare by Katharine Kerr. She's better known for her Deverry series but this is a sci-fi/fantasy standalone, 3 ex earth cultures who intended to stay separate, accidentally find & learn about each other & a local sentient species. Polar City Blues is also great, kind of an urban scifi murder mystery.

My first foray into The Realm of the Elderings by Robin Hobb. Excellent start, SO tempted to keep reading but I really do need to get some sleep tonight!
