Gong Xi Fa Cai!!
17.02.2026 18:07 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Had one of these for the first time this week. Seriously freaky.
16.02.2026 18:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's been a terrible week but now its Friday night, I have wine and berries and a good book. Maybe chocolate soon. This is good. I can appreciate this.
13.02.2026 06:54 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just finished Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch, which was a fun murder mystery/paranormal mix; now rereading The Will of the Many by James Islington before reading the sequel. Really enjoying it again, even though it's only been a year!
13.02.2026 01:09 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Always fun to discover good authors I haven't read yet! Only about 3 chapters in but love it so far.
08.02.2026 18:08 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just started Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch, good start!
08.02.2026 08:56 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao, sequel to Iron Widow. Started a bit slow as the MC is in a very different circumstances than in the first book, but getting into it now!
06.02.2026 17:50 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just started Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao, the sequel to Iron Widow. Seems to have a different feel than Iron Widow due to circumstances of the main character at the start, hoping that changes though!
04.02.2026 18:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Just about to reread that before I start the sequel, it a good one!
01.02.2026 18:10 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Love this one, have recommended to lots of people!
01.02.2026 18:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0January TBR challenge went well, although starting Riftwar added a lot to be TBR! Next up February challenge. The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods (Book about a partnership) & Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao (Unread sequel). ๐๐ช๐
31.01.2026 21:30 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've been meaning to get to Jade City for ages now, about time I found a copy, sounds excellent!
31.01.2026 08:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've used LibraryThing for the last 3 years & now have a good habit of recording everything as I read, real easy to add new books. And I have a handy list of books I want to read when I'm in libraries or bookshops!
30.01.2026 19:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods, it was a gift & not my usual high fantasy type read but really enjoying it, intriguing story and well written.
30.01.2026 19:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Shelf with Chinese ornaments and 2 books, one is Jane Austen's Persuasion, the other Sex in the City
Interesting book choices at a hotel in China... ๐๐
21.01.2026 01:37 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I kind of like the muscles and snark women, but yes there are other things to celebrate in women too!
18.01.2026 22:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Snare is probably my favourite book ever, and love Palace! She's also written Polar City Blues and Polar City nightmare, long time ago now I think. Fun to read another one! Pretty sure there's at least one sequel coming.
18.01.2026 11:57 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yes! Vaguely? Connected to Snare and Palace, and in the same universe as Polar City, so cool!!
18.01.2026 09:36 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Haze by Katharine Kerr, good book! Sci fi which kind of connects to her other scifi novels, loving finding the connections. My reading is very fragmented as I'm traveling, hope i get stuck into it more tomorrow.
18.01.2026 09:01 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Looks like some good ones there! I'm looking forward to reading The Strength of the few, by James Islington, want to reread The Will of the Many first. And lots of others on my TBR!
17.01.2026 22:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Haze by Katharine Kerr, love it so far!
16.01.2026 22:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just started Haze by Katharine Kerr, didn't realise it was connected to Palace, Snare and the Polar City books! So cool, they are favourites of mine. An awesome birthday gift to myself, and then found it was stupidly cheap on Kindle right now! ๐๐ช๐
16.01.2026 00:07 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Looks great, on my TBR!
15.01.2026 23:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really wasn't sure when I started those whether I would even like them, turned out amazing!
15.01.2026 00:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm on another older fantasy right now - Silverthorn, the 2nd in the Riftwar Saga by Raymond E Feist. Will go on to something more modern next though. But you should definitely carry on with Robin Hobb!!
14.01.2026 18:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Good to hear, thanks. I'll at least read the rest of the Riftwar Saga books, may come back to the rest later. So many books I want to read right now!
12.01.2026 20:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thank you and Happy birthday! It's my birthday this week too, so thanks for the gift ๐๐
12.01.2026 19:34 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Good morning from (the last day) in Finland!

Ah! Looks like you got hooked into the series too. So far I've found the pacing terrible and the writing kind of stilted, but the story is so compelling I feel like I want to read more. Will check out Dominish, thanks!
12.01.2026 19:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I read this for the first time early last year and loved it too! So much that I read the whole series over the following few months. It's now my new favourite series ever. You're going to love the stories of Verity and the Fool, keep reading!
