Somerset Levels were hugely flooded today, leaving very little grassland for this kestrel. Cattle egrets, lapwings and starlings scattered in large flocks amongst muddy cattle grazed fields. A firecrest was another highlight. #birds

Two lifers for me today, both at Shapwick Heath NNR in Somerset: a penduline tit and an American wigeon. The PT was distant. Also an accommodating stonechat kept me company @naturalengland.bsky.social
