Somerset Levels were hugely flooded today, leaving very little grassland for this kestrel. Cattle egrets, lapwings and starlings scattered in large flocks amongst muddy cattle grazed fields. A firecrest was another highlight. #birds

A lovely walk around Sherston in the Cotswolds today. Lots of winter thrushes and starlings plus flocks of skylarks I think. Pleased to see a cattle egret amongst little egrets circling the grazing cattle, and a red kite overhead...how times have changed...
