Two months is long enough that it's time to admit, in 2025, my first case of COVID has turned into Long Covid, interacting badly with my pre-existing post-viral Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I am resting a great deal and persevering the rest of the time.

ICE has been deployed to *provoke* civilians, not to protect them. They want to throw tear gas canisters and get people on the streets riled up, all to create footage for Fox News and Newsmax, et al., that will be used as a pretext for imposing martial law to lower voting rates in Democratic cities.

Looking at babies and toddlers, I'd say we're mostly inherently selfish and have to develop a sense of the other, empathy, an understanding of how society works, consideration for others, and long-term thinking. By the time we become adults, our "selfish" includes highly variable values and ranges.

Dems want to keep enhanced ACA subsidies in any budget or CR. GOP’ers lie about it, claiming Dems want to give money away to undocumented immigrants at the expense of Americans.

THAT LIE is why this is the GOP’s shutdown. Not because they’re in power, but because THEY’RE LYING ABOUT WHAT DEMS WANT.

So many research grants are being yanked back. That work is just stopping. The individual researchers are scrambling to find funding, and most of them aren't finding any. Studies are being just plan lost.
