He knows this because he's a fascist, but he's trying to misdirect by focusing on just Nazism and its symbols.
Fascist actions, though, such as corporatism, limits to free speech, or supporting genocide overseas: he's cool with those.

Israel is a fascist apartheid state, demonstrated by their own actions and policies.
"While important, attending No Kings protests is a beginning and not an end. It should be seen as a first step of sustained political activity to slow down the Trump administration and MAGA movementโs attempts to end multiracial democracy," Chauncey DeVega writes.

Exactly. Does Israel have a right to exist in its current state?
Did apartheid South Africa? What about Khmer Rouge Cambodia? Fascist Italy? Nazi Germany? None of them deserved to exist as they were and each had their systems abolished, and new constitutions written.
One state: the only solution.
But Graham, you seem genuine. You sound like someone who understands the issues workers are facing, and you're proposing ideas that don't throw other people (like LGBTQ, immigrants, etc) under the bus. As long as you maintain that solidarity and fight for all workers, I'll support you however I can.
16.10.2025 01:46 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0America's working class has been impoverished since at least the 70s. Corporate interests have infected our democracy to the point that nobody is willing to help the working class. And under these circumstances, it's easy for a tyrant to point fingers at scapegoats, like immigrants or trans people.

A life of 80 hour work weeks, of constantly struggling to get by, being trapped in a shitty job by your health insurance โ this is not freedom, and we are not free. But we could be. If we fight.
Excellent video essay by Hello Future Me, which looks at "democracy backslide", aka the global shift to authoritarianism.
You should definitely watch it, especially if you're a writer.

Gimme a goddamn break!
Near the movie's climax, Ajay Singh is tasked with repairing a laser he's never seen before, before something bad happens.
So he fixes the laser, and the EA next to him praises him. And Minhaj's line is:
"That's why they give me the corner office!"
Back to TRON: Ares, the current Chief Technology Officer of Encom is Ajay Singh, played by Hasan Minhaj.
And no shade to Minhaj, he did just fine in the role, but he was given what is arguably the cringiest line in the whole movie, but which also summarizes its central theme of corporate worship:
Screenshot of TRON: Legacy featuring Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) and Quorra (Olivia Wilde) riding off on a motorcycle.
By the end of the movie, Sam is ready to take on the responsibility of CEO (of the very company he ruined a few hours earlier), now that he's made peace with his father and found a born-hot-yesterday girlfriend.

Let me show you what I mean.
In TRON: Legacy, the main character Sam (the son of Encom's founder) starts the movie off by hacking into his dad's company's server and releasing its new software for free to the whole world, causing the company's stock to plummet.
Are we really expected to care about the TRON universe's feuds between one CEO vs. the other? About stock prices being affected by XYZ events, about the Board of Directors firing someone if the tech isn't perfect or whatever? Really?
But TRON valorizes CEOs and expects us to worship them as heroes.
Poster of Marvel's TV series Iron Fist, which originally aired on Netflix. It shows Danny Rand in a martial arts pose.
The real flaw with TRON: Ares is the same one at the core of each installment: it's a fantasy series where CEOs replace kings, and corporations replace kingdoms.
TRON is Ayn Randian techno-feudalism. So, it's hard to take the human stakes seriously.
Think "Iron Fist", but "cyber".
The performances were also decent: Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro were all good.
And yes, even Jared Leto was fine; everyone relax. He might be annoying as a person and "method actor", but he did okay in this role.

Ok, so... TRON: Ares...
Let me start with what I liked: the visuals and the music. This isn't surprising, since these two are the core strengths of the TRON franchise: it looks cool, it sounds cool.
NIN did a great job on the soundtrack, its tech/distortion matching the movie's themes.
I've messaged you about this before (on Twitter, years ago), but it bears saying again: Say You Love Me is one of my all-time favourite songs and I still have it in rotation on my playlists today.
