Same shit every time. The sort of people who'd get distracted by dangling keys.

Every week there's another idiot saying it's over for hollywood and it's in reaction to some abysmal dogshit.

One of my favourites of the series. Henriko Magnifico has a great HD texture pack available if you're emulating, although getting the latest version is a bit of a pain as it's locked behind patreon. The older version is still freely available on his website though.

This image sums up political grifting so well because there's not a single position -no matter how utterly reprehensible- that these disgusting shameless losers won't take in order to appeal to a niche of utter freaks.

I also hope people just stop using Discord as a file repo for projects. Very annoying trend.

There's no good option when it comes to social media and data privacy, just less worse options. If enough people keep picking least worst options, companies will have to adapt by actually considering data privacy is actually something people care about.

The only way these companies will ever learn and stop treating user privacy with such complete disregard is if people collectively stop using them.

I wish that were true. At the very least I hope they lose a big chunk of the operating system market share.

Stop Palantir taking over our public services! Our public services aren’t for a secretive profit-hungry US tech firm. Sign the petition to tell the Government to scrap all contracts with secretive US tech firm Palantir.

Palantir, a US spy-tech firm, has been given access to millions of NHS patient records.

Its founder has said the NHS should be 'ripped up'.

Join me in calling on the government to end the dangerous Palantir contract.

People being mean about Highguard didn't cause it to fail. A company developing a live service game (a genre notorious for its high failure rate) and expecting it to be a massive hit from the get-go was what caused it to fail.

The live service games will continue to fail until morale improves.

The excuses don't add up at all. If it weren't for the game awards nobody would have heard about it and they certainly wouldn't have gotten anywhere close to those numbers with a quiet drop. It sounds like they ran out of money and were banking on it being a massive hit. Delusional thinking.

They seem to blame people being mean and lies for the game's failure, but it had over 100K concurrent players at launch and lost 97% of them in a few days. It doesn't matter what people said before launch, if it had that many players and almost everyone left immediately it was the game's fault.

Another thing that left a bad taste in the mouth is that the game is getting launch DLC, which I think is a pretty scummy game practice. If the game turns out good I'd rather just pick it all up as a bundle in a future sale, especially if that's going to be their attitude towards content updates.

I played some of the demo and while I didn't think it was bad, as a game it does feel a decade or two too late. I definitely think it's very much for people who were big fans of Voyager and like the idea of "what if they did x this instead of y". I might end up picking it up in a future steam sale.

Encouraging people to create digital revenge porn is vile. I don't care how heinous of a person Pam Bondi is. She should be held politically and legally accountable for actions. Get help.

Meta’s internal memo said the political tumult in the United States was good timing for the feature’s release.

β€œWe will launch during a dynamic political environment where many civil society groups that we would expect to attack us would have their resources focused on other concerns,” according to the document from Meta’s Reality Labs, which works on hardware including smart glasses.

this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where β€” at a bare minimum β€” they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

Star Trek isn't just some utopian future where everything has been cured and all problems have been solved. It's idealistic.

Going back further than DS9, there's an episode of TNG where Worf has to come to terms have suffering a major spinal injury. He's not just instantly healed because "future".

I have my criticisms of Starfleet Academy for its writing but showing that disabilities still exist in the future isn't one of them. There are countless trek episodes showing that in fact they have not cured all diseases or disabilities. Entire episodes have been dedicated to it as a plot point.

Absolutely do NOT give your ID or face scan on Discord. It's even worse than expected. Apparently due to people bypassing current systems, they're switching to "persona" which is funded by fucking Peter Thiel.

Capcom are really starting to take the piss now. You can pick them up on GOG without DRM.

Or just, y'know, emulate them. (legally of course)
