I'm pleased to reaffirm my support for strengthening the Hunting Act.

Public support for action to combat ongoing fox, stag and hare hunting remains high, with strong, consistent support among voters of all parties and across all regions of the country, including here in Mid Cheshire.

Andrew Cooper: 'Politics should be about talking to others' One of the most rewarding parts of being your MP is getting the chance to meet people face to face, to listen, to talk, and to learn about what…

Politics should never be about talking at people; it should be about talking with them.

Coffee mornings are a key way that I connect with my constituents and I always leave these coffee mornings with pages of notes and a renewed sense of purpose.

This is your vote, your choice. You the members choose your Deputy Leader.

Having this conversation is not dissent, but an important conversation about how we can be better.

I will be your strong independent voice.

Labour should consider hiking gambling tax to fight child poverty, Powell says Deputy leadership hopeful Lucy Powell said Gordon Brown's proposal to hike gambling tax to fund axing the two-child benefit limit should get 'careful consideration'

Labour is at its best when we are clear about whose side we are on, and in whose interests we serve, when our values shine through.

I want us to be clear that our objective is to lift children out of poverty and that will mean we need to lift the 2 child benefit cap www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

Cheadle already has two stations very close by and enjoys a bus service the likes of which we can only dream of in Cheshire. It is totally unjustified and frankly tone-deaf to push forward with this without serious work on improving services for communities all the way along the Mid Cheshire Line.

15.06.2025 12:54 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

We were promised two trains per hour in the Northern Franchise. That promise has never been fulfilled.

15.06.2025 12:54 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Solutions I've heard - only stopping at Plumley, Mobberley and Ashley every two hours - effectively kills public transport to these communities. Who will run the risk of a cancelled train if it means a two hour wait?

15.06.2025 12:54 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Every station added to this line adds 2-3 minutes to an already unattractive journey time.

15.06.2025 12:54 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The Mid Cheshire Line is the only route into Manchester from Northwich. Despite being only 20 miles away from the city, the journey somehow takes an hour, and there is only an hourly service.

15.06.2025 12:54 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It's completely correct that this work is "held up" until a solution is proposed that doesn't disadvantage communities along the Mid Cheshire Line.
